Sweden – Blackbird
This year all members of PostEurop are issuing EUROPA stamps on the theme of national birds.
Voted Sweden’s national bird for the second time, the blackbird remains unchallenged as our most beloved bird. Perhaps part of its attraction is its beautiful, slightly melancholic song, and the fact that it can be found everywhere, often close to where people are. The blackbird nests in cities, in the countryside and in the forest. Today we may come across it throughout Sweden, with the exception of the mountainous regions.
