Netherlands – 50 years of Pinkpop

The 50th edition of Pinkpop will start in exactly 50 days. PostNL honors this oldest open air pop festival in Europe with the issue of the 50 years of Pinkpop stamp sheet. The 5 special anniversary stamps will soon also be available for sale on the festival grounds.

3 days, 60 acts, 60,000 visitors

Pinkpop takes place this year from 8 to 10 June in Landgraaf in Limburg. During the 3 days, a total of 60 acts can be admired. 60,000 enthusiastic visitors are expected per day.

Rich history

The 5 stamps of the 50 years of Pinkpop issue feature the special anniversary logo of the popular festival. The typography in the white frame was printed in gold to give the anniversary extra shine. The stamp sheet also contains a description of the unique event, with photo and promotional material from the rich history of the past 50 years.

To the printing press

The 50 Years of Pinkpop stamps were printed on April 15 at Joh. Enschedé Security Print in Haarlem. Mister Pinkpop Jan Smeets was present at the printing press for the last check. Smeets, the driving force behind the festival for 50 years, is very happy with the issue. “They have become pretty beautiful stamps. That is also possible, because this anniversary year we have a fantastic line-up of artists to also fascinate new generations of music lovers. There are big names that really belong to Pinkpop. But also small acts with innovative performances. We keep thinking about the future. ”

Various bands can be admired on the various Pinkpop stages this year. Major international artists are coming, such as The Cure, Fleetwood Mac, Lenny Kravitz and Mumfords & Sons. Traditionally, the Dutch music scene is strongly represented, including Anouk, Armin van Buuren, Golden Earring, Jett Rebel, Krezip and Rowwen Hèze.
